About Franka Robotics

Franka Robotics is a Munich robotics company, founded in 2016 as Franka Emika, whose force-sensitive robot arms became a reference platform for robotics and AI research worldwide. Its core product, Franka Research 3, is a 7-axis torque-controlled arm system sold with low-level access to control and learning interfaces through the Franka Control Interface (FCI), which made it a standard tool in university laboratories and in widely used research benchmarks and datasets. Following the insolvency of Franka Emika in 2023, the business was acquired out of insolvency by Agile Robots, and it now operates as Franka Robotics within the Agile Robots group (see the Agile Robots profile at queue position 49 in this directory), while remaining headquartered in Munich.

Under its new owner the line-up has been extended toward physical-AI research — including a mobile dual-arm research system and support for Agile Robots' Diana 7 arm within the Franka ecosystem — alongside the Franka Production 3 variant aimed at applied settings. For partners, Franka offers the research community’s most widely adopted force-controlled arm platform, with an installed base across leading universities and institutes and continuity under group ownership.

GlobleMatch Trust Signals

A directory that doesn’t sell stars. Trust Signals are built only from verifiable facts — never from anonymous ratings, and never for sale. There is no single hidden score.

Public information coverage	8 of 9 fields on the standard profile could be filled from public sources. This counts how much public information exists about the company — not how good the company is. The nine fields are listed in the methodology. Claiming the profile lets the company complete the remaining fields itself.
Last verified	6 November 2026 — facts on this profile were checked against the sources listed below. Profiles are re-checked on a published 90-day cycle; this date is never quietly refreshed.

Claim this profile to unlock response record, directory tenure and peer endorsements. The full methodology — what each signal measures and how it is calculated — is published in the Trust Signals methodology, including a change log.
