Trust Signals methodology

A directory that doesn’t sell stars. Trust Signals are individual, verifiable facts about a listing — published with their definitions, never combined into a single hidden score, and never for sale.

The five signals

Public information coverageHow many of the nine standard profile fields could be filled from public sources: headquarters; country; industry; founding year; company size; markets served; official website; public funding; and products & services. Shown as a count — for example “8 of 9 fields” — not a percentage. It measures how much public information exists about a company, not how good the company is. Fields we cannot verify are left blank, and the count says so.
Last verifiedThe date this profile’s facts were last checked against the sources listed on the profile. Every profile is re-checked at least once every 90 days. The date shown is always the real date of the last check — it is never quietly refreshed. If a profile is overdue for re-checking, its date simply ages; that ageing is itself part of the signal.
Claim statusOne of three states: Not yet claimed, Claim in review, or Claimed & Verified. Verification is by company-domain email or proof on the company’s official website or social profile, reviewed by a person.
Response recordHow the company responds to enquiries sent through the directory. Shown only on claimed profiles — an unclaimed company has no one receiving those enquiries, so there is nothing honest to show.
Directory tenureHow long the profile has been listed. Shown only on claimed profiles, alongside the response record.

Unclaimed profiles therefore show only the first two signals — the two that have real data from day one. The rest appear when a company claims its profile: Claim this profile to unlock response record, directory tenure and peer endorsements.

Peer endorsements and customer reviews

Peer endorsements open once at least 30 companies are claimed and verified — below that, an endorsement section would be empty shelf space. Only claimed companies can endorse; the relationship (customer, partner or supplier) must be declared and is shown; one endorsement per company pair; endorsements can be withdrawn; the endorsed company can reply.

Customer reviews are a later phase. They will be evaluated once at least 100 companies are claimed, and will require a verified business relationship, human review before publication, and a public right of reply. Reviews are never incentivised: rewards are offered for claiming a profile, never for rating one.

Kept separate from money

No payment changes any signal: not advertising, not a showcase upgrade, not a consulting engagement. The Founding Claimer marker given to the first 100 claimed companies records the order in which companies claimed — a fact about timing, not a paid placement — and plays no part in any signal.

Corrections

Any listed company can request a correction or a removal at any time, whether or not it claims its profile. Verified requests are actioned. When a fact on a profile changes, it is re-verified against sources first; profiles are never edited silently.

Change log

Changes to this methodology apply going forward only — they never rewrite what a profile showed in the past — and are recorded here.

  • v1.0 — 31 October 2026: initial publication. Five signals defined; coverage shown as a field count out of nine; 90-day re-check cycle; endorsement and review thresholds set at 30 and 100 claimed companies.

Trust Signals describe what GlobleMatch was able to verify from public sources. They are not a guarantee of any company’s creditworthiness, product quality or conduct.
