Editorial Policy

GlobleMatch exists to help people understand cultures and connect across borders. That mission only works if readers can trust what we publish. This page explains how our content is created, reviewed, and corrected.

How our content is made

• Topic selection. We choose topics based on what genuinely helps readers — navigating cultural differences, planning travel, learning languages, and building cross-border friendships. We do not publish filler or clickbait.
• Research. Each guide starts with research into the topic, drawing on widely recognized cultural references, travel guidance, and language-learning resources.
• AI-assisted drafting. We use AI writing tools to help draft articles. Every draft is then reviewed and edited by our editorial team before publication. Nothing is published without human review.
• Respectful treatment of cultures. We write about cultures with respect, avoid stereotypes, and aim to present traditions and customs accurately and in context. Where we get something wrong, we correct it (see below).

What we will never publish

• Fabricated statistics, user counts, ratings, or testimonials.
• Reviews or recommendations we do not genuinely stand behind.
• Content that mocks, stereotypes, or demeans any culture or group of people.
• Plagiarized or scraped content — our guides are written for this site.

How tools are built and checked

The free tools on this site run entirely in your browser and use reference data we maintain by hand: time zone rules from the public IANA database, phrase lists reviewed by speakers of each language, typical travel costs compiled from published sources and updated when they drift, and cultural tendencies drawn from cross-cultural research. Each tool page states what its data can and cannot tell you. When a reader reports a wrong result we reproduce it, fix the data or the logic, and note the change on the page.

Country guides and generalisation

Country guides describe tendencies, not rules, and we try to say so on every page. We avoid ranking cultures, humour at a culture’s expense, and claims about what “all” people in a country do. Where a country has strong regional, generational or religious differences we name them rather than flatten them. The planning sections on each guide (holidays, working hours, time zones, tipping) use stable, widely published facts; dates that move each year are described as moving rather than pinned to a date that will be wrong next year.

Corrections

If you spot an error — a factual mistake, an outdated detail, or a cultural description that misses the mark — please tell us through our contact page. We review every report, correct verified errors promptly, and note significant corrections on the article.

Advertising

GlobleMatch is free to use and supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertising does not influence our editorial content: guides and tools are created independently of any advertiser. Sponsored content, if we ever publish any, will be clearly labeled.
