About Exail Technologies
Exail Technologies is the French listed group behind Exail, the maritime-robotics and navigation company formed in 2022 by combining ECA Group and iXblue under a single brand. Exail is one of the few suppliers covering the full uncrewed maritime chain, from components to complete systems. Its DriX uncrewed surface vessels (H-8, H-9 and the transoceanic O-16, with up to 30 days' endurance) work in hydrography, ocean science and naval surveillance and act as surface gateways for subsea assets, while its AUV range — the A9 and A18 families and the deep-rated Ulyx — covers survey, inspection and defence missions to 6,000 metres. For mine warfare, the UMIS system combines the Inspector USV, Seascan inspection vehicles and K-STER mine-disposal drones, and is at the centre of the Belgian-Dutch rMCM programme.
These vehicles lean on the group’s second core business: fibre-optic-gyroscope inertial navigation and positioning systems (the Phins family) fitted across ships, submarines, UUVs and drones, plus photonics for space and quantum applications. The group is family-controlled, sells in around 80 countries, and builds its vehicles mainly in France, including at La Ciotat and Toulon-area sites. For partners, Exail is a vertically integrated source of USVs, AUVs and the navigation stack they run on.
