About Robotics Plus

Robotics Plus is a New Zealand agricultural and forestry robotics company, now part of Yamaha Motor’s agriculture business, that builds autonomous and robotic systems for growers and primary industries. Its flagship product is Prospr, a self-driving, precision spraying vehicle for orchards, vineyards and specialty crops, designed to deliver consistent chemical coverage with less labour and less overspray. Around it sits a wider primary-sector portfolio: robotic log-scaling systems that measure logs at ports in fixed or mobile configurations, replacing a slow and hazardous manual task, and automated fruit-packing technology that orients and packs fruit in packhouses. The company was founded in 2013 in Tauranga and grew out of New Zealand’s horticulture research ecosystem, developing machines on working orchards before exporting them.

In 2025 Yamaha Motor acquired Robotics Plus and folded it into Yamaha Agriculture, pairing the New Zealand team’s field robotics with Yamaha’s global manufacturing and distribution reach; the Robotics Plus website now routes all enquiries to Yamaha Agriculture, which manages them on its behalf, although the products and brand remain presented under Robotics Plus.
