About Hexagon Robotics

Hexagon Robotics is the robotics division of Hexagon AB, the Swedish measurement-technology group, and the builder of AEON, an industrial humanoid robot launched on 17 June 2025 at the Hexagon LIVE Global event. AEON pairs Hexagon’s own sensor suite with advanced locomotion, AI-driven mission control and spatial intelligence, and is aimed at labour-shortage tasks in automotive, aerospace, transportation, manufacturing, warehousing and logistics plants. The division is working with Schaeffler and Pilatus as first pilot partners, deploying AEON on manipulation, machine tending, part inspection and reality-capture duties, and develops with technology partners NVIDIA (accelerated computing, Omniverse simulation and Jetson onboard computers), Microsoft and maxon.

Because the parent group sells metrology, reality capture and positioning technology worldwide, the division can draw on an installed base of industrial customers and on Hexagon’s own scanning and measurement IP to give its humanoid perception capabilities most robot start-ups have to buy in. For partners, Hexagon Robotics offers a humanoid backed by a listed industrial group — with pilot deployments in European production environments preceding a broader commercial rollout — rather than a venture-stage prototype programme.
