The HAHN Automation Group is a German factory-automation group that develops, manufactures and integrates customised, high-performance automation and robotics solutions for manufacturing companies worldwide. Its roots go back to 1992, when Hähn Engineering was founded in the Hunsrück region; this grew into HAHN Automation, which opened its first US location within a decade. RSBG SE — the investment company backed by the RAG-Stiftung foundation — took a majority stake in 2014, the HAHN Group holding was formed in 2017 as a platform of specialist automation companies, and in 2023 all the network’s individual brands (among them Invotec, Waldorf Technik, GeKu, REI Automation and HAHN Robotics) were merged into the single HAHN Automation Group brand. Headquartered in Rheinböllen, the group runs more than 20 locations across three continents and employs around 1,600 people.

Its modular-platform approach turns standard cells into bespoke systems spanning handling, assembly, joining, testing and inspection, packaging, injection-moulding automation and end-of-line testing — including fully automated EV battery testers — for the automotive, electronics, MedTech and consumer-goods industries, and it works manufacturer-independently across robot brands. Digital services include virtual commissioning, its EVE analytics tooling and the HAHN Academy training platform, backed by a global service network. For manufacturers, HAHN is a large, single-source European-headquartered partner for complex assembly and test automation at global scale.
