About Spirit AI

Spirit AI (千寻智能) is a Chinese embodied-intelligence company building a general-purpose "brain" for robots and its own humanoid hardware to run it. Its Spirit series of vision-language-action models — Spirit v1, the open-sourced v1.5 and v1.6 — is trained on large volumes of real-world interaction data collected with the company’s own wearable capture devices and teleoperation, a data strategy the company credits with cutting collection costs sharply versus conventional methods. Its robot, Moz1, released in June 2025, is a wheeled humanoid with 26 degrees of freedom and full-body force control, aimed at industrial and commercial work; the company reports deployments on battery production lines at CATL and, from March 2026, an agreement to deploy Moz robots in JD.com retail stores (company-stated).

Founded in January 2024, the company has raised money at exceptional speed: Reuters reported in September 2026 that it had raised more than $670 million since founding, including a $280 million round announced in February 2026 (company announcement via PR Newswire), with backing from Chinese technology investors and strategic corporates. Its stated ten-year ambition, carried on its official website, is for a tenth of the world’s people to have a robot of their own.
