About Neugart

Neugart GmbH is a family-owned German gearbox specialist that describes itself as "the family business among gearbox manufacturers": founded in 1928 to make gear components for the clock industry, it has been owned and run by the founding families ever since, now in the fourth generation. Its core competence is the planetary gearbox — Neugart developed its first planetary gearbox for stepper motors in 1975 and is one of the few suppliers offering both straight and helical gearing — supplied as twelve standard series spanning economy to high-precision, low-backlash designs, plus custom gearboxes engineered to individual machine specifications. The gearboxes drive automation equipment across machine building, robotics, medical technology and packaging, typically paired with servo and stepper motors at the axes where positioning accuracy is set.

Development, production and sales are centred on the historic headquarters in Kippenheim in southern Baden, where the large majority of the group’s 781 employees work; the group sells worldwide through its own subsidiaries in the United States, China, Italy, Brazil, Türkiye and France and a dense distributor network. For robotics and automation partners, Neugart is a long-horizon, owner-managed source of planetary gearheads and application engineering, with configuration tools and lifetime support built around standard, catalogue products.
