About Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR)

Mobile Industrial Robots, known as MiR, is a Danish manufacturer of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) that automate internal transport in factories, warehouses and hospitals. Founded in Odense in May 2013, the company was an early pioneer of the AMR category: instead of following fixed lines or tracks, its robots navigate freely around people and obstacles, carrying loads from 100 kg up to 1,350 kg depending on the model. The current fleet includes the MiR250 for smaller loads, the heavy-duty MiR600 and MiR1350, and the MiR1200 Pallet Jack, launched in 2024, which uses AI-based 3D vision to pick up and deliver pallets autonomously. A range of top modules — lifts, conveyors, shelf carriers and towing hooks — plus the MiR Fleet and MiR Insights software platforms lets customers run large multi-robot operations.

MiR was acquired by the US test and automation group Teradyne in 2018, and in 2022 Teradyne folded AutoGuide Mobile Robots into MiR to broaden the heavy-payload range. Since 2025, MiR and its sister company Universal Robots have been legally consolidated under Teradyne Robotics A/S, sharing a joint headquarters in Odense while continuing to operate under their own brands. The company’s own boilerplate reports more than 220 distributors and certified system integrators in over 60 countries.
