Han’s Robot was founded in Shenzhen in September 2017 as the robotics arm of the Han’s Laser group, building on the group’s motor and motion-control operations. It makes collaborative robots under the Elfin brand — the Elfin, Elfin-Pro and Elfin-P lines — and has extended into intelligent assistants (MAiRA), composite mobile robots (the Star series) and in-house core components including servo systems and joint modules, selling into 3C electronics, automotive, semiconductor, healthcare, retail and logistics applications. In March 2025 the company formally changed its name to Guangdong Huayan Robotics, converted into a joint-stock company, and moved its registered office from Shenzhen to Foshan’s Shunde District, although research, development and production remain rooted in Shenzhen’s Bao’an District.

Huayan Robotics listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 30 March 2026 under stock code 1021. Han’s Laser, which once controlled the company, has been diluted to a stake of roughly 15–17 per cent and is now its largest external shareholder rather than its controller. The company maintains subsidiaries in Tianjin and Germany and a global sales and service network. Despite the renaming, it continues to trade internationally under the Han’s Robot name, and its official website still operates on the hansrobot.com domain.
