Over five decades it has grown into a systems-and-products business covering both sides of factory automation: it designs and integrates complete production lines — body joining, assembly and machining systems for conventional and electric vehicles, and end-to-end battery manufacturing and cell formation — and it sells its own product families, including industrial and collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots, wearable exoskeletons and digital platforms for monitoring and optimising production assets.
Through its fully owned subsidiary Automha it also supplies intralogistics and warehouse automation, so a single group can equip both the production line and the warehouse behind it. The official site reports more than 4,000 employees, 15 manufacturing plants across 12 countries, nine innovation centres and more than 1,200 patents. Since December 2024 the company has been majority-owned by the US private-equity firm One Equity Partners, with former parent Stellantis retaining a minority stake.
